DQ For Your Sweet Cravings!

This summer we tend to look for cold drinks such as shakes, or any frozen dessert like ice cream. Ice cream is usually made from dairy products such as milk and cream and often combined with fruits or other ingredients and flavors. The meaning of the phrase ice cream varies from one country to another. Phrases such as "frozen custard", "frozen yogurt", "sorbet", "gelato" and others are used to distinguish different varieties and styles. Countries like the United States using the phrase ice cream only applies to a specific variety and most governments regulate the commercial use according to the relative quantities of the main ingredients. There are also milk substitutes or dairy alternatives such as goat's or sheep's milk available for those who are lactose intolerant, allergic to dairy protein, or vegan. Dairy Queen, often abbreviated as DQ is a chain of soft serve and fast food restaurants owned by International Dairy Queen Inc., The first Dairy Queen store opened in 1940 in Joliet, Illinois. Dairy Queen also has a rich history, which started way back in 1983 when the soft served formula was first developed by John Fremont "Grandpa" McCullough (1871-1963) and his son Bradley. They were able to convinced their friend and customer Sheb Noble to offer the soft served products in his ice cream store in Kankakee, Illinois.
